Overview

A desert safari is the classic evening out from Dubai. A licensed driver collects you from your hotel in a 4x4 and drives into the dunes, where the ride over the sand, known as dune bashing, feels like a slow roller coaster. You stop on the dunes for photos as the sun goes down.

After the drive you arrive at Noble Safari Camp, a premium camp with separate tables and sofa seating. Dinner is served while performers put on a live programme with oud players, singers, belly dancing, a Tanoura dancer and a fire show. A short camel ride is part of the evening.

Choose a seat in a sharing vehicle, or book a private car for your own group of up to 6. Quad bikes and buggies can be added at the first stop for an extra fee. For more options, see all desert adventures.

Best for

  • First evening in Dubai: The sharing safari covers the dunes, sunset, dinner and shows in one trip.
  • Families: Children from 3 can join; under-3s ride free but dune bashing isn't recommended for them.
  • Groups and couples: A private car keeps your group together and lets you set the pace on the dunes.

About this experience

How much is a desert safari in Dubai?

On KWIKAR, this evening desert safari starts from AED 255 per person in a sharing vehicle. A private car for up to 6 guests costs more; current prices for both options are in the table above. Quad bikes, shisha and drinks are extra.

What time does the desert safari start and finish?

Pickup is in the afternoon so you reach the dunes before sunset, and you are back at your hotel in the late evening. Allow about 6–8 hours in total. Our team confirms the exact pickup time for your hotel on WhatsApp.

Is hotel pickup included?

Yes. Pickup and drop-off from hotels in Dubai are included. Ask us if you are staying outside Dubai, as pickups from other areas may cost extra.

Can children join the desert safari?

Yes. Children under 3 are free, children aged 3 to 12 pay the child price, and guests 12 and over pay the adult price. Dune bashing is not recommended for very young children; ask us about gentler options.

Can pregnant women go on a desert safari?

Pregnant women should not take part in dune bashing. Tell us when you book and we will suggest a camp-only or gentler desert option.

What should I wear?

Light, comfortable clothes and trainers or sandals. Bring a warm layer in winter, as the desert gets cool after dark.

Can I drive the 4x4 myself?

No. Only licensed safari drivers may drive the off-road vehicles. You can drive a quad bike or buggy for an extra fee at the first stop.

What is the difference between sharing and private?

In the sharing safari you ride in a 4x4 with other guests. The private car is only for your group of up to 6 and includes private table and sofa seating at the camp.

Is food included?

Yes. Dinner with soft drinks is included at Noble Safari Camp. Alcoholic drinks and shisha are available at extra cost.

What happens during Ramadan?

Desert safaris still run during Ramadan, but some shows such as belly dancing and alcohol are not offered. The rest of the programme continues.
