Overview

The Heritage Cultural Retreat joins the best of Platinum Heritage in one journey: an evening of Bedouin culture in the Dubai Desert Conservation Reserve, a night in a stone dwelling, and a sunrise flight in a hot air balloon over the dunes.

The first day brings a vintage Land Rover or camel nature drive, a falcon show at sunset, a traditional dinner and Emirati performances under the stars. Before dawn you travel to the balloon site, float for 45 to 60 minutes above the desert, and land for a breakfast inspired by the four elements beside a quiet oasis on royal grounds.

Day 1: pick-up in Dubai

Pick-up between 14:00 and 16:30, depending on the season. A headscarf and a water bottle are your gifts.

Nature drive and falconry

60-minute drive by vintage Land Rover or camel, then a falcon show at sunset.

Bedouin camp, dinner and night

Coffee and dates, four-course dinner, Emirati performances and a night in a stone dwelling.

Day 2: sunrise balloon flight

Travel to the take-off site before dawn and fly for 45 to 60 minutes above the dunes.

What is the minimum age?

7 years, because of the balloon flight. Children aged 7-11 pay the child rate.

What happens if the balloon cannot fly?

The pilots decide on the morning, for safety. You get a new date for the flight or a partial refund.

How long is the balloon flight?

45 to 60 minutes, at sunrise.

When does it operate?

Every day from 1 November to 30 April.

What should I wear?

Light, comfortable clothes, a hat, sunglasses and sunscreen. From November to March bring a warm layer for the evening and the early morning.

Can you cater for special diets?
