Burj Khalifa Prime vs Non-Prime Tickets: Which Should You Book?

Prime and Non-Prime tickets give you the same At the Top levels and the same view. The only differences are the entry time and the price: Prime Time slots fall around sunset, sell out first and cost more. Choose Prime if sunset photos matter; choose Non-Prime to save money and avoid the busiest hour.

What is the difference between Prime and Non-Prime?

At the Top sells every ticket for a fixed entry time. The busiest slots, mainly the hours around sunset, are sold as Prime Time and cost more. All other slots are Non-Prime. Once you are on the deck, there is no difference: you see the same levels, ride the same lift and walk through the same exhibition.

So the real question is simple: is it worth paying extra to be up there at sunset?

When is Prime Time?

Prime Time covers the slots around sunset, so it moves through the year with the sun. Dubai's sunset is earliest in December and latest in June. The exact Prime hours for your date are shown when you choose a time slot, and our team confirms them when you send a request.

February – March6:05–6:30pm

June – July7:05–7:15pm
August – September6:25–7:00pm
October – November5:35–6:10pm

When Prime Time is worth it

  • You want sunset photos. Book a slot that gets you on the deck about 30 minutes before sunset to see daylight, golden hour and the city lights in one visit.
  • It is a once-in-a-trip visit. If you will only go up once, the sunset view is the one most people remember.
  • You are visiting in winter. From November to March the air is often clearer, so the sunset view is at its best.

When Non-Prime is the better choice

  • You want the lowest price. Silver Non-Prime costs the least of the At the Top tickets.
  • You prefer fewer people at the glass. Morning and late-evening slots are usually quieter.
  • You want night views. After dark, the city lights and The Dubai Fountain are just as impressive, at the Non-Prime price.
  • You are travelling with young children. A quieter morning slot is easier than the sunset crowd.

What about Gold and Platinum?

Gold adds level 148, a quieter lounge-style deck with a host and refreshments, and Platinum takes you to the lounge on levels 152–154. Both are calmer than the main decks at any time, so the Prime question matters less. Compare every level and its current price on our Burj Khalifa At the Top tickets page.

Tips for either ticket

  • Arrive at the At the Top entrance on the lower ground level of The Dubai Mall 20–30 minutes before your slot.
  • Book Prime Time early in peak season (December to March); these slots sell out first.
  • Check the weather the day before: haze or dust can hide the view, and the outdoor terrace closes in bad weather.
  • Add Fast Track if you are short on time in busy periods.
